Obituary for Theta Blann Crist (Bass)
Theta Blann Crist was born October 22, 1942 to F.I. and Elizabeth Bass in Waco, Texas. She passed away peacefully on November 26, 2022. She grew up in Hillsboro, graduating from Hillsboro High School. Theta married Mickey Crist on July 15, 1960 and the couple lovingly welcomed two children, Melanie and Amanda. They were married until Mickey's departure.
Theta loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She engaged in varied careers, most notably telephone operator, police department dispatcher and bingo cashier. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was also a member of Amvets Auxiliary Post #72. In her spare time she enjoyed the movies Lonesome Dove and Red Headed Stranger, and the television program Mash. She loved all animals and was known for her crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her parents F.I. and Elizabeth Bass; beloved husband Mickey Crist; and infant great grandson Jaxson Crist.
Theta is survived by her children Melanie Poteet and husband Rick, Amanda Reese and husband Ronnie; grandchildren Trevor Crist and wife Miranda, Satara Whitney and husband Charlie, Coleton Whitney and wife Samantha, Mariah Hall and husband Joshua, Cheyenne Grams and husband Tyler, River Reese, Nakona Reese, Saber Reese and 12 great grandchildren.
