Obituary for Roger V Cavazos

Roger V. Cavazos, surrounded by his loving family, passed away on Sunday July 10, 2022, at the age of 77. Born in Sebastian, Texas on April 21, 1945, he grew up as a true cowboy on the famous King Ranch. It was there that he met and married the mother of his children, Lidia V. Cavazos. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and devoted Christian.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Aurelia Cavazos and brother Antonio V. Cavazos. He is survived by the mother of his children Lidia V. Cavazos of Hillsboro, son Roger Cavazos Jr. and wife Amy of Burleson, daughter Sandra McCool and husband Lonnie of Bynum, son Mark Cavazos and partner Julie of Austin, daughter Sonia Padilla and husband Dominic of Hillsboro, son Nicholas Cavazos and girlfriend Cassandra of Bynum, grandchildren Gabriela, Alexis, Bryce, Tanner, Jaryn, Nathaniel, Zalynn, Isabella, Peyton, Chase and great-grandchild Wilder. As well as his siblings, brothers Reynaldo, Hector, Noel and sisters Norma and Ofelia.

He worked many years in the breeding of cattle, received certification from International Beef Breeders Artificial Insemination training school. Then went to work for M-K-T (Katy) Railroad and retired as a track inspector for Union Pacific Railroad.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, July 15th, 2022, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory Cemetery, 3838 State Highway 22 Hillsboro, Texas 76645. Interment will follow immediately after service.
