Obituary for Patricia Deanna Beal (Carter)

Patricia Deanna Beal was born February 8, 1938 to Christine Stewart and Thomas Carter in Knox City, Texas. She was welcomed into the presence of the Lord on July 28, 2022. She graduated from high school in Knox City, where she participated in everything, from playing in the band to sports. She even won the spelling championship! Patricia always remembered her hometown fondly. On April 4, 1958, at the age of 20, she married Bobby Joe Beal. The couple welcomed five children: Patricia, Cynthia, Bobby, Christina, and Glenda. The two enjoyed 42 years together before his death.

Patricia is remembered as loving and kind, as one who loved to make others laugh. She was adored by all who knew her, and never met a stranger. Patricia devoted her life to her family. Christmas was her favorite time of year; she loved having the whole family together. Family reunions were also a high light of the year as was making mulligan stew! Known to her family as Maw-maw and Nanny, Patricia had nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

She enjoyed fishing, cooking, playing volleyball, camping, and playing games. Patricia always looked forward to family time at the lake. She had real knack for gardening, and her green thumb ensured she could grow anything! She enjoyed the music of Elvis.

She was also a deeply faithful woman. A long-time member of Victory Baptist church, she enjoyed the writings of Charles Stanley and Billy Graham.

She is preceded in death by her father Thomas Council Carter, mother Gertrude Christine (Stewart) Carter; siblings Thomas Carter, Terry Carter, Glenda Pogue, daughter Cynthia Ann Beal and great-great grandchild Jett Michael Etchieson.

Patricia is survived by her children Patricia Beal, Bobby Beal, Christina Gunn and Glenda Lutz; grandchildren Sheila Etchieson, Michael Lee Beal, Christine Key, James Gunn IV, Bryanna Schaffer, Spencer Gunn, James Lutz, Casidy Lutz and Samantha Lutz; great grandchildren Jason Etchieson, Baylee Etchieson and Lily Gunn, great-great grandchildren Hadley Etchieson; siblings Carol Musgrove and Sandra Lowe; sister-in-law Sidney Yale and brother-in-law Jim Musgrove.
