Obituary for Nancy Louise Baker (Hanna)

Nancy Louise Hanna Baker went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 18th 2022, at the age of 85. She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Nancy was born in Dallas, Texas, January 1st 1937 to Juanita Louise and James William Hanna.

A gifted pianist, Nancy played piano by ear at a young age, eventually taking lessons to learn to read music. She also enjoyed fishing, cooking and baking. Nancy graduated from North Dallas High school in 1954 and worked as an administrative assistant at a mortgage company for several years. She married Larry Baker in 1977 and together, they had a love to be admired. After retirement, they built their dream house, found a church and joined a community she truly loved in Whitney, Texas. Nancy was a very active member of the church for a number of years until her health diminished. Despite health struggles, Nancy maintained an elegant strength until the end and lived her best life.

Nancy is survived by her husband Larry Baker, sister, Anita Hughes, daughter, Deanna Skelton, granddaughters: Amber (Chris) Wood and Lauren (Aaron) Price, great-grandchildren: Erin, Briana, Aaron Jr. and Christopher II. and many other dear family and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Juanita, father, James, daughter, Julie Knapik and son in law, Michael Knapik.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 26th 2022 at 2pm, Cornerstone Funeral Home: 301 W. Elm Street, Hillsboro, TX 76645.
