Obituary for Marla Kay Turner

Marla Kay (Hughes) Turner of Whitney, Texas gained her heavenly wings on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. She entered this world on September 21, 1954 in Ft. Worth Texas, to Walter and Frances (Garner) Hughes.

She was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Mike Turner, and a wonderful Aunt to several nieces and nephews.

Marla worked for the Coca Cola Company in the late 70’s where she worked her way to the top sales person. She also worked for Conor’s Materials where she retired.

Marla loved water skiing, hunting, and traveling with her husband; always making sure to stop at every historical marker they passed along their route.

Marla was preceded in death by her father, Walter Hughes; mother, Fran Baber; and two brothers, Jimmy D’wayne and Chris Eugene Hughes.

She is survived by the love of her life, Mike Turner; nieces, Courtney Renee Hughes of Stephenville, Texas and Tracy Hughes Wells of Rising Star, Texas; nephews, David Hughes of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Christopher Hughes of Arlington, Texas, and Matthew Hughes of Fort Worth, Texas; along with several great nieces and nephews. Sister in law, Teri Hughes of Fort Worth, Texas; Favorite cousin and best friend, Roger Bellinger of Blum, Texas. Three Aunts, one Uncle, and a host of other family and friends.
