Obituary for Kenneth Alvin Janes

Kenneth Alvin Janes age 77 of Hillsboro went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday February 5,2022.

He was born the son of Thomas Alvin Janes and Dorthy Merle (Leggett) Janes in Borger Texas on August 1st, 1944. He grew up and attended schools in Peoria and Hillsboro Texas.

He married his childhood sweetheart Sandra Aleta (McConathy) Janes on April 9, 1962. Kenneth opened his own mechanic shop before returning to school for telecommunications after which He worked in Waco and surrounding cities. In the late 80’s he and his wife established Friendly Communications Inc. from which they later retired. He dedicated a large part of his life to his farm. Kenneth loved raising, breaking, and riding horses, along with fishing and hunting. He was always happy to help his neighbors and community. He was a member of Vaughn Baptist Church. He later taught Sunday service in Ennis Nursing home where he was known as Cowboy.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Janes, and 2 sons Kenneth Alan Janes and Robert Aaron Janes, one grandson Kenneth (Kenny) Alan Janes Jr. and sisters Shirly Sandy and Phyllis Long. He is survived by his 2 daughters, Valarie Jill Davis and Husband Mike of Hillsboro and Lisa Kay Waits and Husband Joe of Lubbock. Eight Grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, Cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel in Hillsboro at 2:00 PM Tuesday February 8, 2022, with Leonard Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Hickey Cemetery.
