Obituary for Keli J Savage

Keli Jean Savage (née Medina) passed away on March 8, 2022, in Hillsboro, TX, after a courageous battle with end-stage renal disease. Keli was born June 11, 1970, in Scottsbluff, NE, to John Junior Medina and Deborah Jean Kelley. She attended Johnston Elementary and Mann Jr High in Abilene, TX, and graduated Sam Houston High School in Arlington, TX, in 1988. She was a graduate of Hill College and a proud Baylor University student.

Keli was a loving mother, daughter, sister, wife, and friend. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and active in her children’s schools. She enjoyed reading, shopping, movies, going out to eat, and spending time with her large extended family, especially at Christmas.

Keli is survived by her husband of 26 years, Darrel Lynn Savage, of Hillsboro, TX; children Miranda Jean Crist (née Robinson) (Trevor) of Nacogdoches, TX; Dakota Rance Medina, and Regan Brianne Greene (née Savage) (Austin), both of Hillsboro; stepson Jonathan Savage of Alvarado. She is also survived by her loving mother, Debbie Kelley and stepfather Randy Bohanon of Onalaska, TX and her beloved grandmother, Barbara Alice Roberts (née Wallace) of Livingston, TX. She was the very proud “Grams” to Korie Jean Perry, Brylee Faith Teague, Kaydence Elaine Crist, Jon, Ari, Xander, and Evangeline Savage. She was the niece of Monica Lynn Kelley (Steve Harrison) of Plano, TX, Jane Medina Gall, Carol Medina Ferreyra, Marlena Medina Kidd, Dwight Medina, and Rene Medina Betz. She was an amazing sister to Michelle Stanley of Ohio, Andyrea Medina Mahon (Michael), William “BJ” Medina (Angela), Corbin Stalcup (Mary), Devin Wright (Traci), Dusti Taylor Castillo (née Lancaster)(Chris), Carolyn Hope Lancaster, Tori Irwin (née Lancaster)(Justin), all of Texas. She was “Aunt Kitty” to 21 nieces and nephews, and a cousin to many.

Keli was preceded in death by her father, John Junior Medina of Custer, SD, her nephew Zachary Jordan Church of Abilene, TX; grandparents William Kelley, John and Leah Medina of NE, and Ralph Roberts of Texas.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022, 10 am at the First Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Interment will take place at a later date at the National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD. Cremation by Cornerstone Funeral Home, Hillsboro, TX.
