Obituary for Jeannette Lynn Strickling

Jeannette was born Jeannette Lynn Stokey on April 9, 1948 in Dallas, Texas and passed away December 16, 2021, in Whitney, Texas.

She was the first child of Roland Hill Stokey and Veda Pearl Stokey. She graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1966. Jeannette worked primarily in the Mechanical Construction Industry for close to 50 years.
She married Jack Kennedy Strickling in 1967 and in 1974 and 1976 they had two beautiful sons, Kenneth David Strickling and Ronnie Lyn Strickling. Her two most precious gifts were the births of her grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn Strickling and Madison Brooke Strickling. Jeannette loved to travel. She also loved boating and fishing with her two sons. She could out-fish her sons any day of the week. Jeannette loved to cook, but most of all she devoted herself to her family.

Jeannette Lynn Strickling is preceded in death by her father, Roland Hill Stokey, her mother, Veda Pearl Stokey, her sister, Cynthia Ann Chaney and brother-in-law, Charles Burnet Chaney.

She is survived by her children Kenneth David and wife Machel, and Ronnie Lyn; her granddaughters, Rebecca Lynn Barree and husband Seth, and Madison Brooke Strickling; her sister Cathey Berberich and husband Joe, one niece, Nancy Kennedy, two nephews Paul Kennedy and Cory Chaney and numerous great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, December 30, 2021 at TGCC Event Center located at 1009 E Jefferson, Whitney TX. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to: Whitney Memorial Park, POBox 889 Whitney, TX 76692 in memory of Jeannette Lynn Strickling
