Jean Louise Sparks, 86, of Itasca passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at a Fort Worth hospital. Graveside services are planned for 2 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2023, at Itasca Cemetery in Itasca, Texas.

Jean was born February 3, 1936, in Nevada, but was raised in California. Many years later, she moved with her family to Texas.

A member of New Life Baptist Church in Covington, she previously was active in other churches. She had helped in Sunday school, vacation Bible school, women's groups, and with church productions. She was also a member of the Gideons Auxiliary.

Jean enjoyed cooking, producing arts and crafts, and taking care of her home and family. And she helped raise and take care of many animals, and wrote a magazine article about goats.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sparks Sr., and by her sons William and David.

She is survived by two sons, Donald Jr., and James and wife, Julie; and by many grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Gideons International, Life Outreach International, or a favorite charity.
