Reflection of Life

Ms. Charlie “Mae Mae” Simmons-Robinson

Charlie Mae was born in Abbott, TX on January 31, 1940, to the late Houston Simmons, Sr. and Beatrice Johnson-Simmons. She was one of fifteen children born into this union.

She attended and graduated from Dunbar High School in West TX in 1958. She was a long-time housewife and later because employed with Town Hall Estates for several years where she excelled in her passion of cooking.

She married her first love Micky Harden and to this union they had one son Michael Wayne Simmons, Sr. and two bonus sons Michael and Jerry Harden. She was later united in matrimony in 1968 to the late Faye Robinson and the family dynamics included Ella Faye (deceased) and Winston Salone -San Diego, CA, and Mary Ann Kennard and Oliver Fennell of Dallas, TX.

She accepted our Lord and Savior at an early age and was a lifelong member of Abbott First Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. Houston Simmons, Sr. and Beatrice Johnson-Simmons; three sisters Christine Simmons-Benson; Annie Simmons-Mitchell; and Dorothy Simmons-Davison. Three brothers Henry Tom Simmons (Hank), Houston Simmons, Jr. (June Bug), and Charles Edward Simmons.

She leaves to cherish her devoted son Michael Wayne Simmons, Sr and loving daughter-in-law Pamela Simmons of Hillsboro, TX; her grandson Michael Wayne Simmons, Jr. (Miranda) of Alamogordo, NM; great-grandchildren Briana, Mykenzie, Zuri, Eric, and her great-great granddaughter Treasure.

Siblings: Bobby Joe Simmons (Lottie) of Valley Mills, Texas; Billy Simmons, Sr. (Deidra) of Waco, Texas; Paul Simmons (Udella) of Hillsboro, Texas, Carl Simmons (Christella) of Hillsboro, Texas, Carolyn Simmons, of Hillsboro, Texas, Ricky Simmons of Hillsboro, TX; Gary Simmons (Karen) of Valley Mills, Texas, and Jane Hodge (Kenneth) of Hillsboro, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
