Obituary for Betty Joyce Williams (WILLIAMS)

Betty Joyce Williams was born on May 7, 1938 in Holland, Texas to Hattie Perkins and Clay Harden. Betty grew up in Maypearl, Texas and upon graduation began a career in Housekeeping and as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA). She later began a career as a Home Healthcare Aide from which she retired. She is remembered by her servant’s heart, always positive, humble, and willing to help others.

The mother of five children, she enjoyed spending time cleaning, organizing and decorating. The fruits of this labor could often be seen in the homes of all of her children and grandchildren. Betty loved cooking and watching cooking shows. She especially loved pig’s feet. In her spare time, she also enjoyed writing short stories. She loved the Lord, Jehovah. In her younger years, she enjoyed singing with her sisters in church.

She is survived by and will be dearly missed by her children Sherri Williams of Denton, Tx; Michelle Williams of Denton, Tx; Caprice Williams of Hillsboro, Tx; Tommy Williams of Houston, Tx; Billy Tom Williams, Jr. and wife Odessa of Itasca, Tx; sister Ann Perry of Plano, Tx; grandchildren Stephanie Fennell and Husband William of Hewitt, Tx; Jessica Sherman and Husband Darius of Hillsboro, Tx and Jeremiah Williams of Denton, Tx; great grandchildren Briana Fennell, Amize Fennell, Harmony Williams and De’Vin Mitchell and great, great grandchild Braxton Fennell . She is also survived and will be dearly missed by her significant other of over 40 years, David Jean.

She is preceded in death by her parents Hattie Perkins and Clay Harden; husband Billy Tom Williams, Sr.; sisters Frances Cleaver; Thelma Williams; Adele Clemons; Irene Brazzle; brothers Billy Harden; Robert Harden; LaSalle Harden; Herman Harden; Roy Harden; Charles Harden and Marshall Harden.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home in Hillsboro, Texas.

Services to celebrate Betty’s life will follow visitation, on November 6, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Burial will be held at the Itasca City Cemetery in Itasca, Tx.
